ITS provide an imaged desktop computer with a Networked ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½Ó°ÊÓ Directory (N-Drive) allowing more flexibility and choice of configuration based on either Windows 7, Mac OS Snow Leopard or Linux.
There is a core software suite along with the operating system and automatic “roll out” of security configurations onto which a variety of packaged applications can be delivered “on demand” via software repositories. Data held on the ITS Research Volumes (R-Drive) can be mapped onto your Desktop if required.
In many cases, individuals have chosen to take a greater level of control, gaining the ability to add or remove software and assuming responsibility for managing their own systems. This level of control is given provided that applicants formally confirm they understand and accept the responsibilities which come with this level of access.
