Our principles

Social responsibility and sustainability are important to us. We incorporate the six United Nations Principles for Responsible Management into our administration, teaching, research and engagement activities. We also collaborate with and advise governments and organisations to improve policy and practice.

Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME)

Social responsibility, ethical practice and sustainability are at the heart of the Business School. We are a School that cares about improving outcomes for business and other organisations for the benefit of society as a whole.

Our School is a member of the . This means we are part of a network of companies across the world who work towards the Global Compact’s vision of creating ’a sustainable and inclusive global economy that delivers lasting benefits to people, communities and markets’.

As part of our UN Global Compact membership, we have signed up to the initiative. PRME is the largest organised relationship between the United Nations and management-related higher education institutions, with over 880 signatory members and counting. As a member institution, we incorporate global social responsibility and sustainability values into our teaching and research. We work closely with organisations to understand the challenges faced, encouraging debate and innovation to improve policy and practice relating to these issues.

Every two years the School submits a Sharing Information on Progress (SIP) report to PRME and a report to UN Global Compact. These reports show how the themes of innovation and sustainability are embedded and practised in the research, academic and practical work carried out by the Business School and its alumni.

External collaborations with partners are also demonstrated through case studies such as the ‘Masterclass Series - Using system thinking to create a circular and holistic business, from fashion and other sectors.’

We’re fully committed to the Principles of Responsible Management Education and continue to increase the visibility of PRME with all colleagues and students, to share and embed best practice and collaborate to advance our mission and commitment to responsible management education. To achieve this we will work with colleagues, students, our Advisory Board and external stakeholders.” Associate Dean (Education and Students), 天美传媒影视 Business School
