Why are we doing this work?
Deprecation by IBM:
Impromptu has been deprecated by IBM, rendering it unsupported. Continuing to use it poses risks to security and stability.
Lack of Official Licensing:
Impromptu is not officially licensed, which could lead to legal and compliance issues.
Security Concerns:
The Admin Remote server used to access Impromptu presents significant security vulnerabilities and lacks support.
Outdated Catalogues and Reports:
The underlying catalogues and reports are neither updated nor supported by ITS. This impacts data accuracy and reliability.
Local Storage Challenges:
Reports are stored locally on university computers/laptops, lacking centralized control, maintenance, or distribution. This decentralized approach hinders efficiency and consistency.
