Systems / Services Affected:
IT Services provides the N Drive (ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½Ó°ÊÓ Share) for you to save your work files. However, running executable files (like .exe or .msi) from this folder increases the load on the file servers and may represent a security risk.
We are updating the N Drive to prevent you from running executable files from the following folders on Windows PCs:
- Desktop
- Documents
- Pictures
- Videos folders
You can still run executable files from your local folders (for example Downloads or C:\Temp), unless they require admin rights.
We do not expect any downtime or interruption to service.
